This 6 week, class is for everyone from beginners to advanced students! You will work on a variety of projects and learn the techniques needed to complete them. Small class size allows for plenty of individual attention and skill building. This class will focus on all the basics of metal clay including the types of metal clays and their advantages, creative inspiration, texturing, firing and finishing. In addition to the basics you will advance to stone setting in place and with bezels, torch soldering, bead making, carving, and many other skills as you continue to learn and grow as a jewelry artist!
Introduction to Silver Metal Clay
This class will focus on all the basics of metal clay including the types of metal clays and their advantages, creative inspiration, texturing, firing and finishing. Students will make their own metal clay pendants and/or earrings and leave with completed fine silver jewelry. (All levels)
Stone Setting in Metal Clay
Learn to set stones in bezels and set heat safe stones directly into metal clay. Take your metal clay pieces to the next level by adding the sparkle of gemstones.
Metal Clay Beads and Beyond!
Want to create great focal and accent beads for your beaded jewelry designs? In this class students learn how to make a variety of hollow core, and solid beads with and without combustible core materials. Students will make lentil beads and round beads, shaped beads and more using different construction techniques!
Rings
In this class you will do more than just make a circle with a flat object stuck to the top. Create a ring that looks as if it has been cast! Learn how to construct a ring band, then design and incorporate a top so that the ring is sculpted into a seamless unit.
Textures Galore and Veneer!
Tired of the same old texture plates that everyone else is using? Want to do something unique of your own? In this class you will learn how to make metal texture plates with a metal etching technique. Learn the polymer clay tear away technique, how to make exposed photo etched texture sheets (PPP's). Then use your custom texture sheets for metal clay veneer that will be applied to metal clay, glass or other objects.
Introduction to BRONZE Metal Clay
This class will focus on the new bronze clay including advantages, creative inspiration, and texturing. We will also cover the firing, materials, and schedule as well as finishing bronze clay. The bronze clay is a really exciting new product different than it's silver counterpart. (All levels)
Sensational Syringe
Having trouble mastering the syringe? Come learn how to get past the shaking and wobbling to create beautiful filigree and artwork. Go from syringe work that looks like spaghetti to syringe work that looks spectacular! Bonus, Includes my DVD presentation on syringe from the 2008 PMC conference!)
Fused Glass Charming Bead Bracelet
Create fun and easy fused glass charms or links and simple charm bracelet. This is a really great little project that has a lot of bang for the buck! (all levels)
